IPTV on Google TV & Android TV: Setup Walkthrough

Google TV (the newer interface layer, found on Chromecast with Google TV and many newer TVs) and Android TV boxes both run full Android underneath, which makes IPTV setup more flexible than on Samsung or LG.

Step 1: Install via Play Store

Search "IPTV Smarters Pro" or "TiviMate" directly in the Play Store from your Google TV or Android TV home screen and install normally — no sideloading required for either app.

Step 2: Log in with your credentials

In IPTV Smarters Pro, choose Login with Xtream Codes API. In TiviMate, choose Add Playlist → M3U URL or Xtream Codes. Enter the details from your welcome email.

Step 3: Let the EPG sync

The first sync can take a minute or two — give it time before assuming something's wrong if the guide looks sparse initially.

If an app isn't in the Play Store

Some IPTV apps aren't Play Store listed. In that case, install the Downloader app from the Play Store, then sideload the APK using the same method as the Firestick APK install process — the steps are nearly identical since both run Android under the hood.

Google TV vs Android TV: does it matter?

Functionally, no — both support the same apps and the same setup flow. Google TV's interface is more content-recommendation-focused, but IPTV apps behave identically underneath it.
