IPTV on MacBook: Setup Guide for macOS

IPTV on MacBook: Setup Guide for macOS

Setting up IPTV on a MacBook uses the same core apps as Windows, with a couple of macOS-specific steps worth knowing.

Step 1: Download from the official source

Get IPTV Smarters Pro directly from its official website's macOS download link.

Step 2: Move to Applications and open

Drag the downloaded app into your Applications folder, then open it.

Step 3: Approve the security prompt

macOS Gatekeeper will likely flag a first-time open from outside the App Store. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the security section, and click "Open Anyway."

Step 4: Log in

Choose Login with Xtream Codes API and enter your credentials — see what each field means if you're unsure.

Alternative: VLC for a quick test

If you just want to verify your playlist works before setting up a full player, VLC opens an M3U URL directly via Media → Open Network Stream — see the full VLC guide.

For the Windows equivalent, see our Windows & Mac install guide.
